Not a fight… I promise.
How I Work
It’s your day… I want you to enjoy it.
So… firstly, I want the 2 of you and your guests to have as enjoyable a day as possible. You only get one opportunity to experience your wedding day (Unless you’re my great uncle Frank). When I work I don’t want the couple being ran off their feet doing fake poses over and over again until I get the shot. I generally try and keep in the background, shoot everyone naturally having a good time.
How I Shoot:
Generally, I start shooting during bridal prep. Drinks, make-up, dresses, flowers etc. Then catch the lads in their final preparations (If they aren’t too camera shy). Quick dash to the venue to get set up for the ceremony while capturing guests arriving, and maybe getting some drone shoots if the weather holds up. I capture the entire ceremony on 3 cameras, and mic up the celebrant and groom. And so on and so on up until around 20 minutes after the 1st dance (the time I stay after the 1st dance is negotiable too).
What I use to Shoot
Filming weddings as a sole shooter is a lot like plate spinning. I still remember my first wedding. It was all very daunting. I have the plate spinning part of it down to a fine art now though. 2x professional cameras, 1x mini wide angle camera, 1x drone, 6x microphones, lights, gimbal, camera rig…..bla bla bla. The list goes on. What you need to know is that everything is covered. Things can always go wrong shooting a wedding, but I have it covered on something else if I somehow miss it on one camera.
